What: Music Production class using Ableton Live 12
When: Saturday & Sunday August 29th & 30th 2026. 1PM-3PM
Time: 2-hours each day, 4-hours total. 1PM-3PM

Who: For beginners!
Goal: The goal of the course is to leave with at least one complete, mixed and mastered instrumental song in the specific genre, created by the student.
Course Description:
Attend a live, in-person music production class with Trayze, at Denver DJ School. You will learn the basics of Ableton Live 12. Enrollment is capped at 5 seats maximum, so each student is guaranteed some one-on-one time in the small group setting. This is a 4-hour weekend accelerated bootcamp. 2 hours of instruction each day - Saturday and Sunday August 29 & 30, 2026. 1PM-3PM.
This class is suitable for beginners with a love of music, and a desire to learn about creating music in their favorite genre. Class is best suited for people that are comfortable using computers, music software, and any knowledge of music is always a plus! Any history or experience as a DJ or playing a musical instrument is great too! Intermediate-level (or any level) Ableton Live users are also welcome.
Within DJ Edits, we will cover song composition, arrangement, basic editing. Use of audio effects, automation, stem separation. Basic mixing, basic mastering. Also covers Ableton Live techniques, tricks, best practices. arrangement view composition within the software. This is not a master-class, or show-and-tell/follow along type of demonstration. You are creating music, from scratch, hands-on, with some one-on-one personalized components.
Requirements: Students must bring their own working laptop with Ableton Live 12 (free trial available on Ableton.com) installed and ready to use, with headphones. Bring laptop charger as well. No external midi controllers or any other gear is necessary for the course.
About the instructor: Trayze is a world-renowned DJ, producer and musician that has toured-with or produced music for some of your favorite recording artists. He’s a 2-time Red Bull 3Style DJ Competition World Finalist. Trayze has numerous releases on major record labels, and is on the remixer team for DJ City - the world’s largest and most prestigious record pool. He also has DJ edits and remix exclusives on the world’s most popular music portal for DJs: Beatport. Trayze has been invited to speak at the Smithsonian Institute’s Remix Project, and has 15 years of experience teaching Ableton Live and music production to students of all ages.
